Academic Record

Upload your high school grades and GPA with an unofficial transcript. Official transcripts must be emailed directly to admissions@rosary.college by your school’s administration. You may choose to upload a statement explaining or elaborating upon any aspect of your academic record. Homeschooled students must submit an equivalent document that serves as a transcript. Transfer students and students with prior college credits should submit transcripts from the credit-granting institutions.

Test Scores (Optional)

The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is preferred; however, ACT and SAT are also accepted. Uploading test scores is optional.

Writing Submissions

This section includes the writing portion of the application, including, Statement of Purpose, one Application Essay, and an optional extracurricular activities question. Mission

The mission of Rosary College is to draw its students into the pursuit of wisdom rooted in intellectual and moral virtues in fulfillment of its evangelizing mission as an institution of higher education in the Catholic tradition. We are committed to the Catholic liberal arts tradition and a Benedictine integration of prayer, work, beauty, and contemplation as foundations for our students’ formation.

Statement of Purpose: 

Each Rosary College student is obliged to participate willingly in our mission of faithfully Catholic education and formation and abide by the institution’s moral expectations for students. Explain why you want to pursue Rosary College’s Associate of Catholic Studies (ACS) in Integrated Humanities, and why you believe you would flourish as a Rosary College student. Share your thoughts on why Catholic education is important to the preservation & advancement of the Magisterium, the Catholic Church, and Society. Approximately 500-600 words

Application Essay: 

Choose one of the prompts and respond with an essay. Note: Longer essays are not necessarily better. Essays will be judged on content and style. Proofread your writing, as spelling and grammar mistakes affect the quality of your work. Approximately 500-600 words

• Prompt A: St. Irenaeus said, “The glory of God is a human being fully alive,” yet so many portrayals of the saints make their lives seem sterile and bland. Choose a saint and bring him or her to life in your essay.
• Prompt B: Choose a book that you love and argue for its greatness.
• Prompt C: Describe an ability you have and explain your goals for refining and employing it.

(Optional) Extracurricular Activities:
List your extracurricular activities, athletics, service, and/or employment. Use the following format:

• Activity Type
• Details about the activity, including time commitment. In what years did you participate in this activity? Describe the time commitment, e.g., “one hour/week throughout the school year,” “about five hours a week during the Fall season.” 
• Optional: Leadership & Accomplishments Highlights. You can choose to describe any leadership positions you held or accomplishments you achieved.

Recommendation

A letter of personal recommendation is required from a tutor, teacher, coach, employer, or equivalent. If you were homeschooled, you may ask a parent to write this letter. You may choose to include the statement “I waive my right to read any letter of recommendation submitted on my behalf.” Note: Rosary College will email your recommender.
