IZOD Lacoste cotton knit made in the UK.

This item is believed to be a vintage piece from the 1980s, when IZOD, which held the license for the American market, produced some of its products in the UK.

Lacoste, born in France, quickly gained popularity with its signature polo shirts, and the preppy style of pairing polo shirts with chinos spread rapidly.

IZOD acquired the rights to manufacture polo shirts in the United States in the 1960s.

1966 was the first year of the licensing agreement.

Even after the original Lacoste of France became an independent global brand, IZOD survived as a casual brand for the American market, and the contract between IZOD and Lacoste, which had lasted for over 30 years, ended when Lacoste reacquired exclusive rights in the American market in 1993.

The item for sale is a knit pullover made from 100% cotton light green yarn.
