This is actually New/Like New Unused
*I'd purchased this brand new several years ago & never used it.
(I had purchased many of the h2o filters from REI new though not sure if this was from rei or another reputed company)

please see minor signs of wear from storage/transport. ie color change in the plastic hose & tiny minor discoloration
I traveled w/ this filter few times a few/several years ago as a backup h2o filter and ended up not needing to use it. the instruction paper has wear though this filter is not used.
