Vinegar culture

Vinegar eels are great if you are planning to breed fish. They are roundworms or nematodes found in raw, unpasteurized vinegar. They are non-parasitic, harmless to humans, and make nutritious fish food.

You will receive an 8oz plastic bottle filled with 6oz of starter and a pipette. The extra space in the bottle is to account for CO2 pressure during travel.
When they arrive, you will need a larger bottle and extra apple cider vinegar, along with a way for air to escape the top but nothing to go inside. I use a coffee filter and rubber bands (which I include as well)

Vinegar eels are very sustainable and very low maintenance. Every 6-12 months I add an apple slice to feed the culture. Your starter culture should be ready to feed in about 2-4 weeks, sooner if you buy a larger starter.
When ready to harvest, the easiest way is to use filter floss (which I also provide). Place the filter floss in the neck of your container and top it off with treated tap water or bottled spring water.
