Faculty

For the better part of a decade now, Stephen Tomlinson, a native of South Carolina, has been engaged in the work of formation and education, as a teacher and mentor, as well as scholar of the Christian intellectual tradition. Following initial studies in music at the Greenville Fine Arts Center and Furman University, he went on for undergraduate degrees in philosophy and classics at Christendom College and the Accademia Vivarium Novum in Rome. After time spent discerning a monastic vocation at Clear Creek Abbey, he returned to academia, pursuing graduate and terminal degrees at The Catholic University of America and the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC, specializing in church history and medieval theology, particularly the work of St. Bonaventure.

He has since taught extensively across multiple disciplines in both secondary and higher education, including at The Catholic University of America, Belmont Abbey College, the Veterum Sapientia Institute, and the Chesterton Academy of St. Katharine Drexel. Outside of the classroom, apart from both teaching and performing music in a professional capacity, he also serves as the director for the Integrated Humanities Society, an initiative he and several colleagues founded in 2025 for the promotion and restoration of Christian culture.
