Inaugural Year Founding Members Campaign

Building A Solid Foundation To Fulfill Our Mission

We are excited to announce our founding member capital campaign! We are grateful that twenty students from ten states spanning eighteen cities have already entrusted us to provide them with a faithfully Catholic liberal arts education. Your generous gifts will allow us to continue to expand our offerings to students who display an extraordinary thirst for wisdom and a commitment to growing in their faith.

The founders of Rosary College felt called to establish a respected institution rooted in Catholic liberal arts education that would aid the human family in the search for meaning, knowledge, and truth amidst an era of rapid technological and scientific advancement and “incomparably fertile dialogue with people of every culture” (Ex Corde Ecclesiae 6).

Much of our initial momentum is due to the contributions of volunteers, such as our President, Dr. Michael Shick, who has been fulfilling his role entirely pro bono, and faculty and administrators putting in extra effort — much of it pro bono as well — to ensure South Carolina’s first Catholic college succeeds. Our inaugural semester could never have happened without our amazing volunteers, for which we are very grateful!

We require financial support to continue to meet this call, by covering critical expenses that ensure the delivery of quality and affordable Catholic education and efficient operations.

The College becomes Catholic in reality when its faculty, staff, and students affirm and act on the principles contained in the College’s Mission Statement, and your generous gifts are essential to achieving that purpose.

My experience of teaching the first two class sessions of my first-ever course for Rosary College has been entirely positive. The students are both engaged and engaging. Their discussions with me during class and in the online discussion forum have been edifying, encouraging, and inspirational. Spending such quality time with students of this caliber fills me with great hope for the future.

Dr. Michael Shick

This is your opportunity to secure a solid foundation for the college by contributing your resources to help Catholic families worldwide access the college’s offerings.

With a gift of $48,000, Presidential Founding Partners receive standing invitations to the annual Founders Circle Dinner and all Parental Advisory Council meetings, and have the opportunity for regular one-on-one meetings with the President, Dr. Michael Shick, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Founders Circle

Become a member of The Founders’ Circle by supporting one full course or more of our Spring ‘25 Course Offerings.

We plan to offer five classes this spring. The costs associated with offering one course include payment for faculty, operational and administrative costs, and technology infrastructure, for a total of $12,000 per course.

Our faculty is passionate about providing a Catholic liberal arts education for their students. As Dr. Elizabeth L’Arrivee, who is teaching Elements of Writing this fall, said in a recent interview, “We are trying to not only give students the ability to think rationally and understand arguments and logic and demonstration and evidence, but also to prepare their souls to be really, truly convinced by these arguments for faith when they hear them.”

Which classes were most transformative for you in your own educational journey? Pass the torch of knowledge to the next generation by supporting one or more of our Spring Semester courses (as this schedule is not yet finalized, in the event of a course being changed, all funds for that course will automatically rollover to the new course).

Building upon the foundation of Greek and Roman culture, but with an imagination baptized by the presence of Christ, this course covers the great Christian literature of the Middle Ages.
Science began with the investigations of the Greeks, growing into a more systematic form at the medieval universities, and solidifying its empirical methodology in the seventeenth century. This course will examine the major stages and thinkers that marked the development of the scientific method.
This course presents an overview of Catholic doctrine through the Creed and sacraments, providing an overview of the development of central doctrines through Ecumenical Councils and the writings of the saints.
Drawing upon the Church’s rich tradition, this course will explore the history of Catholic music. It will present an overview of Gregorian chant, medieval polyphony, sacred music from the baroque, classical, and Romantic periods, and will end with the state of contemporary sacred music.
Speech forms the foundation of the communication of ideas, stemming from human rationality and interpersonal communion. This course examines the nature of clear, truthful, and persuasive speech needed for learning, teaching, work, and evangelization.

Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself. -St. Thomas Aquinas

Saint Raphael Trailblazer

As a liberal arts educational institution in the Catholic tradition that aims to provide an authentic, rigorous, and affordable education for our students, we must recruit and retain qualified faculty with expertise in their field.

Joseph Pearce is a world-renowned Catholic scholar whose reputation, breadth of experience, and expertise have blessed the college tremendously. You can read about Josephs’ impressive biography here. We sincerely desire to offer Joseph and, in time, other excellent faculty, full-time, salaried positions at the college.

You can ensure Rosary College students receive the gift of an excellent and transformative college education by contributing to the Joseph Pearce Faculty Fund.
